The 2009-10 is the year of finishing the building of our Fields of Dreams, and moving into maintenance and enjoyment. This summer saw completion of new tennis courts, and with this we have accomplished the goal of having all of our athletic teams on campus!
We could have never made it this far without the phenomenal support of the Bella Vista volunteer parents and students, generous donations from the community, and the cooperation and support of the BVHS Administration and the San Juan School District. The BV Athletic Booster Club deserves special recognition for the steady promotion and ownership it took throughout all phases of planning, financing and operating.
2006 was the year we built the four new fields around Bronco Hill. Since then we’ve been repairing, aerating, fertilizing and overseeding to keep the fields in the best shape we could. 2007 and 2008 saw the addition of two softball fields and a new JV Baseball diamond, and in the summer of 2009 the tennis courts were rebuilt with new spacing and durable court surfacing. The photos below capture the spirit of our progress:

Our current needs are to keep the fields in the best condition we can afford; and to carry forward, as funds allow, with the finishing touches. It’s parent volunteers that make the difference, but the support of coaches and their athletes are what really make it work. Stay in touch with what we’re doing through the links on the right (click on any of the categories under UPDATES to see specific postings, under MISCELLANEOUS to see all postings, or VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to learn about our next field work day or major project).
The Bella Vista High School athletic fields have been transformed, and we - the parents, students and coaches of Bella Vista High School - are the ones who made it happen!
