Nortech Waste LLC of Roseville is a waste recycling company that sells compost as part of its recycling program. If you go to the local building material store this compost sells for about $20 per cubic yard. Our fields need about 1500 cubic yards of compost to provide adequate organic material for a healthy turf. Transportation costs add about $5 per yard. That adds up to $50,000 for delivered compost plus the cost of spreading it evenly on the fields. Nortech has agreed to donate half of the compost and sell the other half for $3 per cubic yard. They will sub contract with a hauler to bring 40 cubic yards at a time for $190. They also believe that due to the dry weather the loads can be compacted to carry 50 yards at a time to further reduce our costs. This is a dramatic savings for the BV project and we are grateful for their help.
