Work Teams for March 3 & 17

This month we will be focused and clear on what we need to do - the day of open play is in sight!

These are the main tasks we will tackle on March 3 and 17 - anyone can help! Take a look and if you see something you’d like to work on, come prepared!

Work Crew: FINE GRADING

Tasks:
1. Fill Football Practice Field birdbaths (topsoil, seed)
2. Remove pipe and re-grade south soccer path drainage
3. Trim DG walkway (straighten edges, fill low spots)

Tools:
1. Wheelbarrow
2. Flat-edged shovel
3. Landscape rake
4. Seed roller (for birdbaths)

Work Crew: COARSE GRADING

Tasks:
1. Fill Band Practice Field erosion rills (use softball soil piles)
2. Fill around Drop Inlets, where land settled
3. Extend DG walkway (from soccer to lacrosse to Band Practice – trim base of Band practice slope on west side; create pads for drinking fountains)
4. Dig drainage trench from 3rd base, Softball to DI (for pipe installation)

Tools:
1. Wheelbarrow
2. Flat-edged shovel
3. Narrow blade shovel
4. Landscape rake

Work Crew: FENCING

Tasks:
1. Remove Football Practice fence and fence posts
2. Create new fence around Band Practice: from 1st Base dugout to FH/L
3. Repair and reposition fence around top of hill, remove from base of hill

Tools:
1. Pliers
2. Crescent wrench (to unlock Temp-a-Fence panel)
3. Wire cutters
4. Pole remover
5. Pole hammer
6. Wheelbarrow (to carry poles and fencing)

Work Crew: SPRINKLERS

Work Crew Leader: Les Will - thank you, Les!

Tasks:
1. Re-set height of sprinkler heads – FP, BP, anywhere as needed
2. Re-set valve box cover heights, as needed

Tools:
1. Narrow blade shovel
2. Screwdriver
3. Teflon tape (if fittings need re-threading)
