Girls’ Lacrosse will soon take their new field, Soccer wants to move goals on and start playing, and Softball has a magnificent Opening Day ceremony planned for next Tuesday, March 27.
But nothing will surpass our Grand Official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on April 11th, at 6:00pm, to celebrate our school’s achievement with the new fields - all of them!
The location for our April 11 ceremony will be the top of the basketball courts, with the ribbon strung between the last two trees along the edge of the asphalt - just about where the Band Practice fence ends. This location is accessible and central, and features the new fields and the new ballfields, in one view. For those who want a tour, it is close to the new trail that circumnavigates the Hill and leads to Soccer and Football Practice/Discus. But as the center of our ceremony, it’s a spot that needs a little tidying up before we invite the community on campus to celebrate our success.
There will be two short work periods to make this area presentable, and to begin work on the Hill. Each requires gloves, wheelbarrows, and rakes:
- Saturday, March 24 - from 10am - 11am or so - during the first part of the Bronco Invitational, for parents not already volunteering at that event - this time will focus on cleaning up the area, to make it presentable for Softball’s first day.
- Sunday, April1 - from 2pm - 5pm - these times will complete the cleanup of “Lower Band Practice” and begin to address the faltering fence and forest of weeds that are rapidly overtaking the top of our Hill.
As always, everyone’s contribution makes a difference, and the difference is there for all to see. We just need a little more help before the Big Day!
