Water for our Field Athletes

If you are practicing or playing on the Field Hockey/LAX or Soccer field, and it’s a warm afternoon, having no supply of water anywhere nearby is. . . not fun.

Starting March 23, drinking fountain standpipes will be available at two remote locations: at the NE and NW corners of Bronco Hill. The water at these locations comes from the same system that supplies the Snack Bar, and has plenty of water pressure. The remoteness of these locations kept us from wanting to put in expensive permanent drinking fountains; we didn’t want to attract vandals!

The piping for this system was installed when the fields were built in 2006, but never finished. The solution we found was to install a vault, with the plumbing for a hose connection to a drinking water standpipe, that is sturdy enough when in use but can be easily pulled out and stored with the balls, nets and other team supplies when it’s time to leave.

Soccer and FH/LAX both have their own standpipe, so these teams are in control of when a drinking fountain will be made available in the NE and NW corners of Bronco Hill, respectively.
