It’s bad enough to be in summer school. But PE on the fields, and the sprinklers come on? The kids might like it, but it’s not likely the summer PE teachers do. Especially before 8 in the morning.

The latest schedule accommodates this need for sprinkle-free operation. It is based on the previously published schedule, with just a few start times rearranged. Because of a limitation of this website, the image can’t be shown here, but laminated versions are attached to the inside of the Stadium, Soccer/FH, DiSoFo and Band Practice Control Boxes.

Remember, if you need the sprinklers off, just turn the systems to “rain delay.” Instructions are available from Athletic Director Steven Coburn (scoburn@sanjuan.edu) or Parent Volunteer Jim Hartley (jhartley07@gmail.com).

Our turf needs to be at the right moisture to grow, to stay green, and to stand up to heavy use. In our area, this means one amount of water in February or March, and as much as four times as much in July. (more…)
