Summer Irrigation Settings
Now in the middle of summer, we have attempted to reseed bare spots with scattered success, and most of our fields are suffering from the excessive heat and disciplined irrigation settings. So we have discovered that to prepare our fields for the fall, a more aggressive irrigation schedule is needed. The following settings have been programmed for the five fields the Booster Club maintains:

These were built on the previous settings, with the major change being that a daytime “spritz” allotment has been programmed into each field on a 5-day per week basis, more or less. This schedule will be in effect until just before school starts again.

2009 Drought Irrigation Settings
The new settings are in place. With this plan, which requires irrigation during specific hours, only three days per week, the Field of Dreams fields will use approximately 50% of the water that might be applied in a normal year. (more…)
