The new tennis courts, a fortunate side benefit of the leach field repair north of the swimming pool, will begin taking form over the summer.

Demolition of the courts, taking down of nets, poles and fences, and removal of the former leachate conveyance lines is scheduled to begin Monday, June 15. The overall schedule is roughly as follows:

  • Demolition, Removal and Backfill: Mid- to Late-June
  • New Surface Placement: Early July
  • New Surface Curing: Early to Late July
  • Fence Enclosure Extension: Early July
  • New Pole Installation: Early to Mid-July
  • Court Striping: Mid- to Late-July

By the beginning of August, the tennis teams and supporters should be installing the new nets, new scoring poles, and windscreens (such as have been secured).

In time, an extension of water and electrical service is planned to provide three locations along the south side of the courts. This utility extension will be a self-help project, so we will need help from volunteers to sawcut the pavement, trench, install and repave the pavement.

If you are interested in this utility extension project or would like to help on the new courts in any way, please send a message to Steve Germoles (sgermoles@comstockmortgage.com) and Jim Hartley (jhartley07@gmail.com).

And make plans now to view the inaugural season on campus when the Girls Team begins competitive play in September.
